Dehradun. A major cyber attack in Uttarakhand brought the entire IT system of the state to a standstill. Due to the cyber attack, the entire IT system of the state was down for 72 hours. This affected the government work. Many important websites and services of the state were completely shut down. These include important platforms like CM Helpline, Land Registry, and e-Office. Work could not be done in the secretariat for the whole day.
The cyber attack was so dangerous that apart from the secure internet service UK Swan, the most important state data center also came under its grip. Government websites started shutting down one after the other. Its effect was seen on 90 websites, whose work was completely halted. Some websites have been made operational right now, the IT department is still working under a secure system regarding the rest.
The team of experts in the Information Technology Development Agency ITDA is making every possible effort to come out of the cyber attack. ITDA Director Nitika Khandelwal said that in view of the guidelines and security of the central government, more work needs to be done on it. He said that everything has been recovered and there has been no loss of any kind from anywhere. He said that all the websites will be made fully operational only after checking the entire security system.
