The current 100 days of the Prime Minister’s tenure are excellent– Ajay Tamta

Haldwani. Union Minister of State for Road Transport Ajay Tamta on Friday, in a press conference at Circuit House Kathgodam on the completion of 100 days of the government, gave detailed information about the public welfare schemes launched by the Central Government for the common man. Tamta said that on completion of 100 days of the Prime Minister, investments worth 15 lakh crores have been completed in 100 days to complete the social infrastructure.

He said that work on the first package of about 4.50 crores has been started on Almora-Bageshwar Road, and the road from Kathgodam to Nainital is going to be made two-lane, and via Jyolikot to Bhawali Kaichi Bypass, it will be made two-lane from Almora to Ranikhet Padukhola via Karnaprayag and from Almora to Panar. The road from Dharchula to Gunji is to be made two-lane on almost all the NH roads of Uttarakhand. Tamta said that the work of widening one lane/intermediate lane to two lanes in 58 km of National Highway-09 has been awarded on 07.09.2024 at a cost of Rs. 384.00 crore.

Which will make it easier to see Mount Kailash from Lipulekh. The border connectivity of the China border will be promoted, apart from this, social and economic development will also be promoted there and this will also increase employment. The construction period of the work has been kept as 2 years.

Under the Chardham project, the High Powered Committee (HPC) constituted by the Supreme Court has given the green signal on 12.07.2024 for the construction of the national highway connecting Kedarnath and Yamunotri. This will enable 2-lane widening work in Yamunotri in 25.08 km and the remaining 13 km in Kedarnath will be widened to two lanes.

Under the Chardham project, the DPR of Champawat bypass two lane paved shoulder with a length of 9.85 km at a cost of Rs 307.00 crore is in progress. The work has been approved by the Oversight Committee constituted by the Supreme Court on 10.07.2024. This will provide relief from traffic congestion in Champawat city. The target for approval of the work has been set as December 2024.

Under the Chardham Project, DPR of four lane Rishikesh bypass of 10.88 km length at a cost of Rs. 1414 crore is in progress. The Oversight Committee constituted by the Supreme Court has approved it on 10.07.2024. This will provide relief from traffic congestion to Rishikesh city and Chardham pilgrims. The target for approval of the work has been set as December 2004. Treatment works of landslide areas on the Chardham route have been awarded. The period for completion of the work has been kept from 12 months to 18 months.

In the first 100 days of the third term of the Modi government, several important decisions were taken with a total investment of ₹ 15 lakh crore, aimed at strengthening agriculture, infrastructure and social welfare. Under the 17th installment of PM Kisan Nidhi, ₹ 220,000 crore was distributed to more than 9.3 crore farmers, which has improved the financial condition of the farmers. The MSP of Kharif crops has been increased for the session 2024-25, which will give about ₹ 2 lakh crore to the farmers. Along with this, a digital agriculture mission has been planned to modernize farming.

Rs 3 lakh crore has been allocated in this year’s budget for the empowerment of Nari Shakti. The limit of Mudra loan for women entrepreneurs has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. Taking a big step in the health sector, 75,000 new medical seats have been announced and custom duty has been waived on three major cancer drugs. Infrastructure projects worth Rs 3 lakh crore were approved to strengthen road, rail, port and air connectivity and boost economic growth.

For social welfare, Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnat Gram Abhiyan aims to improve the socio-economic condition of 5 crore people of the tribal community in 63,000 villages. More than 1.23 lakh students have been enrolled in 405 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across the country. More than 3 crore new houses will be constructed with an assistance of Rs 5.36 lakh crore under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

The limit of tax-free income has been increased to Rs 7 lakh, 50 per cent pension has been guaranteed for 23 lakh central employees under the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) and the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme has been revised.

Senior citizens above 70 years of age will get ₹5 lakh annual health cover under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Solar power systems have been installed in 3.5 lakh homes under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. The Ministry of Road Transport has launched 8 major high-speed corridor and ring road projects in its 100 days tenure, including Agra-Gwalior, Kharagpur-Moregram, Dharad Mehsana-Ahmedabad, Ayodhya Ring Road, Pathalgaon-Gumla, Kanpur Ring Road, Guwahati Ring Road and Nashik Phata-Khed Elevated Corridor.

These projects will reduce travel time by 50 per cent to 60 per cent in various parts of the country, increase traffic efficiency and reduce logistics costs. Also, they aim to generate employment of over Rs 5 crore man-days in total, boosting the local economy. These projects will not only facilitate travel but will also strengthen industrial and commercial connectivity.

The major achievements of the Road Transport Ministry include approval of 215 km of new projects at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore, which include bypasses and expansion of roads in Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. In addition, 219 km of high-speed corridors are ready for operation, taking the total length of high-speed corridors in the country to 2,357 km. A pilot project for barrier-free tolling under Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has been launched.

Cashless treatment scheme for road accident victims is implemented on a pilot basis in Assam and Chandigarh. Automated Traffic Management System (ATMS) has been implemented on 428 km of national highways and is planned to be implemented on all high-speed corridors in the next 5 years. Blackspots have been improved, 46,000 vehicles scrapped under the vehicle scrapping policy, and 12 RTO services have been made online, providing convenient and transparent services to citizens. Tamta said that through all these projects we are not only reducing travel time but also providing lakhs of employment opportunities across the country. All this is an important step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s dream of a new India.
