More than 300 roads closed in Kumaon due to heavy rain

Dehradun. Due to continuous rain in Uttarakhand for the last two days, the situation is dire at many places. More than 300 roads in Kumaon are closed due to heavy rain. 357 roads are closed across the state due to rain. At the same time, due to heavy rains in Kumaon, SDRF troops have been deployed from Rishikesh to Tanakpur.

VO- Due to continuous rain in the state for the last two days, there is a flood-like situation in Tanakpur, Pithoragarh and Champawat of Kumaon. Due to heavy rains, there is news of water entering many villages near Champawat. 6 houses in Berinag have been damaged due to landslide. Due to continuous rain for 2 days in the entire state, about 357 roads are closed, which also includes the Pithoragarh-Tanakpur main road.

Since the alert issued by IMD, the State Disaster Management Department is in touch with the District Magistrates of all the districts and is monitoring the situation. Secretary of the State Disaster Management Department, Vinod Kumar Suman says that the situation of the entire state is being monitored for two consecutive days.

Talks are being held with the District Magistrates of the concerned districts and wherever there is news of damage due to rain, rescue teams are being sent there with immediate effect. He also said that there is more damage in Champawat district in 2 days, while the situation in the state is normal so far.

At the same time, he said that under the Char Dham Yatra, pilgrims are being stopped at safe places midway and the situation remains normal at the moment. Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said that pilgrims are stopped at safe places during rain in Sonprayag Gaurikund and Rishikesh and as soon as the rain stops, the pilgrims are sent for the journey.
