Dehradun. Today (date 14 September 2024), the fifth day of the hunger strike called by the Provincial Teachers’ Union Uttarakhand for 100 percent promotion and promotion at all levels by cancelling the direct recruitment of principals started, in which the following teachers and officials sat on a hunger strike.

The hunger strike by the Government Teachers’ Union Uttarakhand for a one-point demand continued today on the fifth day as well.
Provincial President Ram Singh Chauhan said that on behalf of the core committee, I heartily thank all the teachers that they put pressure on the government in the entire state to postpone this direct recruitment examination and showed their union commitment. He also thanked the government but angrily said that the department is showing stubbornness and the government and administration are not communicating with the union. The organization will not back down until the government takes the organization into confidence and reviews this new rule of the principal.
The government should resolve the judicial issues and immediately carry out promotions at all levels which have been delayed for years, otherwise the anger of the teachers will be too much for the government. We have followed every order of the government till now but we have been deceived every time which is not right, if the movement becomes violent, every teacher of the state will reach Dehradun and the entire responsibility for any kind of disorder in the education system will be of the government, administration and the department.
Provincial Vice President Rajkumar Chaudhary thanked the hunger strikers and said that the movement will continue till the recruitment is cancelled and promotions are done at all levels. And the union is ready for every situation.
Provincial Treasurer Laxman Singh Sajwan warned of making the movement more violent and taking to the streets if the demands are not met.
Provincial Vice President Rajkumar Chaudhary thanked the hunger strikers and said that the agitation will continue till the recruitment is cancelled and promotions are done at all levels. And the union is ready for every situation.
Provincial Treasurer Laxman Singh Sajwan warned of making the agitation more fierce and taking to the streets if the demands are not met.
The meeting was jointly conducted by Provincial Joint Minister Jagdish Bisht, Garhwal Division President Shyam Singh Sariyal, Division Minister Hemant Painuli, Division President Kumaon Dr. Gokul Singh Martolia, Division Minister Kumaon Ravi Shankar Gusain.
