Dehradun. (12 September 2024) Chief Medical Officers of all districts have been asked to remain alert amid the increasing possibilities of dengue in the state. Along with this, instructions have been given to maintain control over dengue by taking effective steps in accordance with the microplan in dengue affected areas and potential areas by establishing coordination with the district administration and line departments. Which will be monitored every day at the Directorate General of Health level.
In a statement issued to the media, the state’s Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that the state government is constantly making efforts to prevent dengue in the state. This is the reason why dengue infection is under control this year, but still it is necessary to be cautious.
He informed that cases of dengue infection have come to the fore at some places in the state, in view of whose increasing possibilities, instructions have been given to the Chief Medical Officers of all the districts to remain alert. Along with this, the district administration and line departments have been asked to intensify efforts for dengue control by running intensive campaigns in dengue affected areas.
He informed that departmental officers have been instructed to prepare a microplan for dengue control and prevention at the district level and form departmental teams and conduct public awareness campaigns in each city and ward as well as continuous monitoring. While the Director General of Health has been asked to monitor the campaign being run for dengue prevention in all districts at the directorate level every day.
The departmental minister informed that instructions were already given to the CMOs of all districts to take effective steps in accordance with the microplan and intensive source reduction activities, fogging, indoor space spray, publicity, inter-departmental coordination meetings for dengue control and prevention. Under which, the team formed by the department had started a public awareness campaign along with destroying dengue larvae by going door to door from the month of April.
Under which, till date, ASHAs have surveyed 24,16,624 houses and dengue volunteers have surveyed 7,37,316 houses and taken larva prevention action. Dr. Rawat appealed to the public and said that even though dengue is under control in the state, but in view of the rainy season, all the people should remain alert against dengue for the next two months and should not allow dengue larvae to grow around them.
