Dehradun.( 08 September). On Monday, the 49th Foundation Day of the 14th Battalion Garhwal Rifles was celebrated with great pomp at the Wedding Point in Balawala, Dehradun. The chief guest of the program, Soldier Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp. During the program, tribute was paid by observing silence to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the country. On this occasion, Minister Ganesh Joshi also honored brave women and former soldiers who received bravery medals.
On this occasion, Soldier Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi, while wishing the former soldiers of the battalion on the Foundation Day, said that he had the opportunity to serve in the 14th Battalion Garhwal Rifles. He said that wherever I am today, my military background is behind it. He also remembered the moments spent in his platoon. Garhwal Rifles is an example of bravery. Minister Ganesh Joshi said that this is the land of heroes, the land of patriots. A less populated state like Uttarakhand fulfills about 17 percent of the soldiers of the country’s army. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affection towards soldiers. The Modi government fulfilled the long pending demand of ex-servicemen like One Rank One Pension. He said that a nodal officer has been appointed at the district level to solve the problems of ex-servicemen at the state level. The state government is also providing employment to one member of the families of martyrs.
Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi said that a military shrine is being built in Uttarakhand to honor the soldiers. He said that the construction of the military shrine is being done as per the vision of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which will be inaugurated soon. He said that I am engaged in this work with full dedication. He said that this military shrine will be a place to preserve the valor and glorious history of the country’s army.
On this occasion, 14th Garhwal Rifles Ex-Serviceman Organization President Umakant Joshi, Captain Dhaniram Nainwal, Captain Gulab Singh, Captain Avtar Singh Negi, Councilor Narendra Bisht, Captain Kedar Singh Butola, Operation Captain Raghuveer Singh, Vinod Kumar, Captain DP Baluni and many others were present.
