Dehradun. Under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program (NICDP) of the Government of India, Khurpiya Farm located in Udham Singh Nagar district will be developed as a smart industrial city. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was trying for this for a long time.
He had made a special request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. CM Dhami said that through this project, there is a potential investment of Rs 15 thousand crore in Uttarakhand and more than 50 thousand youth are likely to get direct employment.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved 12 new project proposals under NICDP with an estimated investment of ₹28,602 crore.
This historic decision of the Central Government will create a strong network of industrial nodes and cities in the country which will promote economic growth and global competitiveness. Khurpiya Farm of Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand has been identified for this industrial area.
A smart industrial city will be developed in Khurpiya Farm at a cost of Rs 1265 crore on 1002 acres of land with the joint efforts of the Government of India and the State Government. With the special efforts of Chief Minister Dhami, all the necessary formalities have been completed for the establishment and operation of the project
