Delhi. Chandrayaan Mission-3 is at its last but important stage. ISRO has told, ‘They have reduced the speed of the lander and now it has turned towards the orbit leading to the moon. Till now all the conditions are absolutely normal.
The coming three days are going to be challenging. Now before landing on the moon, the speed of the lander will be reduced so that soft landing can be done. The lander module consisting of the lander (Vikram) and the rover (Pragyan) will undergo a second ‘deboosting’ on August 20 to lower it into an orbit that will take Chandrayaan very close to the lunar surface. The soft landing on the Moon’s south pole is expected to happen on August 23.
According to ISRO’s tweet, the condition of the lander module is normal. LM has successfully completed a deboosting process, which has now reduced its orbit to 113 km x 157 km. The second deboosting process is to be done on August 20, 2023 at 2:00 pm Indian time. Chandrayaan-3 entered the Moon’s orbit on August 5 after its launch on July.
