Dehradun. (3 October) Congress General Secretary Naveen Joshi today held various meetings and contacted the general public in Chuna Bhatta area of Raipur Assembly constituency under the Jan Samarthan program being run in view of the upcoming municipal elections. Along with getting to know the problems faced by the public, he appealed for support in favor of the Congress party in the upcoming municipal elections.
State Congress General Secretary Naveen Joshi said that after completing the tour of about one-third area of Dehradun metropolis so far, he has found that the engine of Dehradun Municipal Corporation seems to have completely failed in the triple engine government of BJP. The condition of common basic facilities including roads, drains, sewer lines and street lights in the urban area of Dehradun is bad. It is difficult to guess whether there are potholes on the roads or roads in the potholes. Due to half-finished construction work done in the name of Smart City, it has become difficult to walk on the roads. Due to the blockage of drains, the rainwater that fell a few days ago is still spread on the roads and the general public is facing many diseases due to the dirt. He said that today the condition of the capital Dehradun has become such that even the rural areas never used to be like that.
Naveen Joshi said that due to the stagnation of dirty water, dengue is spreading in many areas but the Municipal Corporation is not taking any care of cleaning and fogging. He said that in view of its imminent defeat in the Municipal Corporation elections, the tenure of administrators is being extended continuously by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the court has also been misled.
Naveen Joshi assured the public that once the Congress party becomes the mayor and the board, the problems of the public will be solved on priority. He appealed to the public to support the Congress party in the upcoming municipal elections so that their problems can be solved. He also said that in the name of Smart City, half-finished works worth crores of rupees have been done and the tax paid by the hard-earned money of the public has been misused by committing a huge scam, the account of which should be demanded by the public in the municipal elections.
State spokesperson Ashish Nautiyal, Devendra Panwar, Gopal Gadiya, etc. many Congressmen and local dignitaries were present in the public relations program.
