Champawat. The Swala danger zone formed between the Champawat Tanakpur highway has made everyone sweat. Due to the closure of the highway, there is silence in the urban areas as well as rural areas. The traders and people are facing huge financial losses and problems. Due to the continuous closure of the NH for big vehicles, there is a shortage of essential commodities in the area and people are angry. According to National Highway EE Ashutosh Kumar, it is not possible to create a safe traffic system here until all the debris is removed from the said place and solid land is found.

For which the movement of all types of vehicles has been banned on the highway on 24/25 September. District Magistrate Navneet Pandey is keeping an eye on the situation. He inspected the site and studied every situation and said that the safety of the passengers is the first priority. As per the order of DM Champawat Navneet Pandey, on 24/25 September, all light vehicles will operate from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm via Sukhidhag Dada Minar motorway and heavy vehicles will operate via Kathgodam Devidhura Lohaghat road and in case of violation of orders, action will be taken against the concerned under relevant sections of Disaster Management Act 2005.

In view of the problems being faced by the public and traders due to continuous closure of NH, a memorandum was sent by the traders of Champawat to DM Champawat Navneet Pandey and by the traders of Lohaghat to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and demand was made to open and improve the NH as soon as possible. The traders said that their business has been badly affected due to the continuous closure of NH. It should be known that this road is also very important for the security of the country because this road connects the China border which is also used by the army.
