Uttarakhand. One district panchayat ward has been reduced from Mori, Bhatwadi and Chinyalisaur area of Uttarkashi district, regarding which the state president of the District Panchayat Member Organization, Dr. Pradeep Bhatt has lodged an objection.

In the letter sent to the District Magistrate, Dr. Bhatt has mentioned that at the time of the 2019 election, there were a total of 25 wards in the District Panchayat Uttarkashi, which have been made 22 this time.

He has mentioned in the letter sent to the District Magistrate that according to the government order, the re-delimitation of any territorial constituency will be done only when a part of any development block area is merged with the urban area adjacent to the rural areas.

Dr. Pradeep Bhatt says that after the 2019 election, no rural area of development blocks Bhatwadi, Mori and Chinyalisaur has been included in the urban area.

He said that the final publication of the District Panchayat is against public sentiments, which needs to be corrected.

He demanded from the District Magistrate to keep the delimitation of development blocks Bhatwadi, Mori and Chinyalisod of the district Panchayat area as it was in the year 2019 and publish the final list of total 25 wards of the District Panchayat.
