Demonstration regarding drinking water in Lohaghat Jal Sansthan

Lohaghat (Champawat). Even in the rainy season, the people of Lohaghat city are facing drinking water shortage, due to which there is a lot of anger against the Jal Sansthan in the city video. On Thursday, the angry people of the city, under the leadership of the outgoing Municipal Chairman Govind Verma, demonstrated fiercely against the Jal Sansthan by raising strong slogans and demanded drinking water supply. Govind Verma and the people said that even in the rainy season, the Jal Sansthan is not providing enough water to the public.

People are being provided water for only 20 to 30 minutes in three to four days. Verma said that the Jal Sansthan collects the bill of the whole month from the public and water is given to the city residents for only 15 days. There is an outcry for drinking water in the city throughout the year. Even in the rainy season, the Jal Sansthan is proving unsuccessful in providing drinking water to the public. Outgoing Municipal Chairman Burma warned that if the problem is not resolved soon, he will take the public along and hold a fierce agitation.

They have demanded from the Water Institute to remove the silt from the tank of the Chaudi Lift Scheme and supply drinking water to the city through tankers. There is a lot of anger among the women about the working system of the Water Institute. Executive Engineer of Water Institute Bilal Yunus said that many drinking water schemes of the city have been damaged in the disaster, efforts are being made to repair them. He said that the problem of the people will be solved soon. Many people were present in the demonstration.
