Uttarakhand. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan today on September 17 launched ‘Swachhata Hi Seva – 2024 Abhiyan’ under the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ organized to commemorate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in her assembly constituency Kotdwar. The campaign was organized at prominent places of Kotdwar like Jhanda Chowk and Gokhale Marg, where she did Shramdaan along with local residents and traders.
On this occasion, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan emphasized the importance of Swachhata Abhiyan and said that cleanliness is not just a responsibility but a duty that every citizen has. She especially directed the Municipal Commissioner Kotdwar to take action against shopkeepers and citizens who throw garbage on the road and drains. She made it clear that any kind of negligence or violation in the cleanliness of the city will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
The Assembly Speaker said in her address, “We all have to make our city clean and beautiful together. This is not only a government effort, but the responsibility of every citizen. By adopting the habits of cleanliness, we can make our environment clean and safe.”
During this, the Speaker of the Assembly appealed to the citizens to increase awareness towards cleanliness and motivated them to maintain cleanliness in their respective areas. He urged the citizens to cooperate in waste management, use the designated places to dump garbage and avoid spreading dirt on the roads.
Under the campaign, local citizens participated actively and demonstrated their commitment towards cleanliness. This campaign has created a new consciousness and awareness about the importance of cleanliness in the local community.
