Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday participated in the ‘Hindi Diwas Samaroh-2024’ organized by Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan at IRDT Auditorium, Dehradun, Survey Chowk. On this occasion, he released the book “Uttarakhand Ki Lok Kathayen” of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan. During the program, the Chief Minister awarded the students who secured the first three positions in poetry writing, story writing, travelogue writing and play writing competition and also honored the students who got the highest marks in Hindi in the board examinations.
Wishing everyone a Happy Hindi Day, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the people who made important contributions to the upliftment and promotion of Hindi language. He said that Hindi is not a celebration of a language but an occasion to be proud of our culture. Hindi is not only a language but also the soul of our nation. Hindi has connected our society and enriched our civilization.
Hindi has given us a special place on the world stage. Hindi is not only a medium of communication for us but also a symbol of our identity, culture and Indianness. Hindi has tried to bind our diverse society into one thread. Hindi, full of ease, simplicity and power, has a wonderful ability to coordinate. The fame of Hindi is not limited to India only but it has become a major bridge of communication in the entire Indian subcontinent.
The Chief Minister said that today Hindi is being studied in various countries of the world. Hindi has also played an important role in bringing awareness in the society. From the freedom struggle till today, Hindi has also been a major medium of social consciousness. During the freedom struggle, Hindi became the language of struggle and played an important role in binding the countrymen into one thread.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working for the upliftment of Hindi. He also appreciated the efforts being made by the Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan for the promotion of Hindi language.
He said that Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan has done many innovations and has worked to encourage people through innovation. This effort shows commitment towards linguistic development. The Chief Minister said that the state government honors outstanding litterateurs under ‘Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman’ to encourage dedication towards languages and traditions. Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan has provided grants to 17 litterateurs under the financial assistance scheme for publishing books in various languages, which is also an inspiration for our writers.
The Chief Minister said that today when India is moving towards becoming the leader of the world, at such a time the promotion of Hindi has become even more important for us. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is making important efforts to establish Hindi on the global platform.
Hindi has got global recognition due to his use of Hindi in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. The Chief Minister said that many efforts are being made by the state government for the upliftment and promotion of Hindi. It is the collective responsibility of all of us to maintain the pride of Hindi. Today we should take a pledge to respect our mother tongue Hindi.
Adopt it in your daily life so that Hindi becomes a powerful language of the 21st century. Motivating the youth, he said that the youth should learn many languages and any kind of hesitation regarding this should be removed from the mind. He said that whatever you learn in childhood will be useful for you throughout your life.
Bhasha Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal thanked the Chief Minister on behalf of Bhasha Sansthan and said that whatever proposals were sent by Bhasha Sansthan, they were approved immediately. He said that along with starting awards in all dialects, the institute is also working to encourage budding writers.
He said that language upliftment is very important for the preservation and promotion of culture. No one becomes small by working on the promotion of his language. He said that recently the Chief Minister was requested to increase the amount of Sahitya Bhushan Award to five lakh rupees, which he has approved. This award will be given every year in the state.
On this occasion, MLA Khajan Das, litterateur and former Vice Chancellor Dr. Sudha Rani Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Doon University Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Secretary Vinod Raturi, Director of Bhasha Sansthan Swati Bhadauria were present.
