Due to heavy rains in Nainital, a landslide occurred on the Bhawali Almora highway

Dehradun. Due to heavy rains in Nainital, Uttarakhand, a landslide has occurred on the Bhawali-Almora highway due to the hill cracking. While the highway has been closed due to heavy debris near Khairna, heavy debris has also fallen on the road near Quarab. Traffic on the highway has completely stopped due to the debris.

The police and administration team is busy opening the highway with the help of JCB, after the highway was closed, the police has diverted the route where now vehicles are being sent to Almora via Ranikhet, due to which passengers are also facing huge problems. It has been raining continuously for the last 48 hours in Nainital district, due to which 29 roads of the district are closed. In the last 24 hours, 165 mm of rain has been recorded in Haldwani.
