Founder Chairman of Sampark Foundation Vineet Nair met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday. He said that to improve education in Uttarakhand, Sampark TV Smart School program will be expanded in 4,337 government schools. This will directly benefit about two and a half lakh children of the state.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Founder Chairman of Sampark Foundation Vineet Nair and said that this is a commendable initiative. The government is paying special attention to the use of modern technology in education. Sampark Foundation has set excellent content through educational videos on the course based on the National Education Policy for the children in government schools. The Chief Minister said that continuous efforts are being made to improve the quality of education in the state.
Vineet Nair, Founder Chairman of Sampark Foundation, said that under this program, schools are being provided 43-inch TV sets and TV devices (Android set-up box and remote) for free by Sampark Foundation. The device is loaded with 1,000 hours of interactive educational content, 500 lesson plans, game-based assessments and educational videos for students from class 1 to 8. This device works without internet and requires internet only to update the content from time to time.
He said that earlier the Sampark TV pilot program started in Champawat in May 2023 had yielded better academic results, on the basis of which this program is now being expanded to all the districts of the state. He said that Sampark Foundation has been partnering with the Education Department of Uttarakhand since the year 2014 and has invested Rs 75 crore for this program.
